Spotlight: Kathlynn Chu
By Kathlynn Chu, PharmD
Hi, my name is Kathlynn Chu, and I am currently an assistant professor in the Department of Clinical and Administrative Sciences at AUHS. I was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and immigrated to the United States at a young age. Losing my father as a child and adapting to many changes throughout my life taught me resilience, gratitude, perseverance, and the importance of family, compassion, and community.
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine, and later received my pharmacy degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Pharmacy. My experiences in healthcare and education have given me a deep appreciation for mentorship, service, and helping others grow both personally and professionally.
My faith and life experiences have shaped my commitment to living with compassion, humility, and kindness. I strive to set a positive example for my children, teaching them the importance of gratitude, generosity, and meaningful connections with others.
Today, I am happily married and the proud parent of two teenage children who play competitive volleyball. Much of our family life revolves around practices, tournaments, and cheering each other on, moments that have become some of the most meaningful parts of our lives together.
Outside of my professional career, I enjoy traveling, exploring different cultures, trying new cuisines, and creating meaningful memories with the people I care about most. Through family, friendship, teaching, and service to others, I hope to make a positive and lasting impact through compassion and kindness.
