By Michelle Paysan-Modina, DNP, MBA, MSN, APRN, AGNP-C, Executive Dean and Professor, School of Nursing, Assistant Chief Nurse Administrator
We are excited to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the AUHS School of Nursing (SON) program regarding its NCLEX [licensing examination, Ed.] performance, based on the latest data from the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). This regulatory body administers the NCLEX exam, which evaluates the competency of nursing graduates in the U.S. and Canada. Here are the key highlights:
1. **Significant Improvement in First-Time Pass Rates:** In the 2023-2024 academic year, the AUHS School of Nursing achieved a remarkable 19% increase in first-time NCLEX pass rates, reaching an impressive 95.38%.
2. **Exceeding Regional and National Averages:** Our graduates’ NCLEX pass rates (95.38%) in 2023-2024 exceeded important benchmarks, including:
– All nursing programs in our licensing province/territory (94.24%)
– Similar nursing programs across the United States and its territories (93.53%)
– All RN programs nationwide (93.03%)
These accomplishments reflect our mission to prepare highly competent, practice-ready nurses who excel in their field. They showcase the dedication of our faculty, the hard work of our students, and our commitment to excellence in nursing education. Congratulations to our students, faculty, and staff on this incredible achievement!
YEAH! Congratulations to Dr. Paysan-Modina, AUHS Executive Dean and Professor, School of Nursing, Assistant Chief Nurse Administrator, and to your team of BSN educators, mentors, and peer tutors!
